MOSCOW NKVD TO THE BRIGADE GENERAL MASLENNIKOV In all 2540 citizen of Finland were listed for evacuation. Among them: in the Karelian-Finnish Soviet Socialist Republic – 2121 people, in Murmansk region – 312 people, in Leningrad region – 107 people. 2134 people who wanted to move to Finland were transferred to the Finns by May 31, 1940. 155 people want to stay in the Soviet Union. Evacuation of the citizen of Finland from the territory which was passed to the Soviet Union under the Peace Treaty with Finland, March 12 of this year is completed. Kintezma, in Kalevala region of the Karelian-Finnish Soviet Socialist Republic is an exception, the evacuation period here has been extended till June 10. In Kintezma 251 people want to leave for Finland. May 30, 1940 transportation of these Finns begins from Kintezma to Uhtua by steamship by lake Kuito. The inhabitants will be transferred to the Finns at the temporary border checkpoint in Lonka on June 3-4, 1940. Among 251 people who are to be transferred there are 3 seriously ill, who can not be transported now. I ordered to inform the Finnish authorities that these people will be transferred after their recovery. Could you give your sanction to this decision. I will send you a detailed report after the transfer of the last group from Kalevala region. On the whole the Government`s task is completed in time.
